How Cool It Is to Be a Composer

I have many piano students who also compose their own music!

What does that mean?

Imagine inventing a short (or long) melody in your mind...
...then sitting at a piano; figuring out the notes, their timing & rhythms.

Playing them over and over; building note upon note, chord upon chord...
...turning the dots on the page into a song for the world to hear and enjoy.

.Mighty cool, indeed!

YOU are your instrument.

The way you stand...
The way you breathe...
The way you hold your jaw...

All of these things (and more!) work together to make the sounds you hear in your head come out of your mouth.

When you sing, you are transforming dots on a page into a story for the world to hear and enjoy. :)
