What age should my child be to take lessons?
Generally, students should be at least 5 years of age; some instruments require kids to be a bit older.
5 & up: piano, guitar, bass, drums
7 & up: voice / singing
*If you have questions about whether your child is ready, we offer FREE EVALUATIONS for children who are not quite at the age requirement.

 I’m an adult…can I take lessons?
Absolutely! Our students range in age from 5 to 76!
Adult students tend to be very quick learners, serious about their studies, and wonderful students! 
Being "too old" is not the issue.  In fact, we have several retirees who are studying with us,
This is about YOU giving yourself the chance to fulfill your dream of becoming a musician! 
What are you waiting for? 

Do students have to own their music instrument to take lessons?
Music lessons are an investment in your child’s education and future success.
In order for a student to truly excel and learn, they should have an instrumentso that they can study daily and practice the techniques their teacher has shown them.
Do not worry!  If you do not have an instrument there is a wide range of prices for
all budgets and we can refer to you a local or online merchant.

Are your teachers experienced?
Our teachers have 125+ years combined teaching & performing experience!

What is your payment policy?
We do not have any long-term contracts and lessons are paid for on a monthly basis.  
Accepted forms of payment are CASH, CHECK, and CHASE QUICKPAY (no credit cards).
All payments are non-refundable.

What if my child has to miss a lesson?
It is our philosophy that consistent attendance is needed for a
forward progression of musical growth and knowledge.  Although
most music studios do not provide make-up lessons when a lesson is cancelled,
Bella Angel Music understands that there may come a time when a lesson needs
to be cancelled / missed due to an extenuating circumstance.  In those rare cases,
we will work with you to provide a make-up lesson.  
We do not double book lessons, and your weekly timeslot is reserved for you on an ongoing basis,
so we ask that you are flexible and understand make-up lessons are issued 
dependent upon teacher and studio availability and cannot always be guaranteed,
especially if cancellations become frequent.  
Bella Angel Music reserves the right to determine if cancellations are frequent.  
In order for a make-up / rescheduled lesson to even be considered,
at least 24 hours’ notice is required.  No exceptions, please. 


But what if I miss my lesson because of bad weather?
About snowstorms, heavy rain, and other inclement weather…Our philosophy is:
If we are open for business and our teachers are here ready to teach,
our expectation is that the students will attend their lessons.  
If you decide to cancel your lesson, the lesson cannot be issued or rescheduled for another time.
Thank you for your understanding.

What if I am late to my lesson?
If you are running late, you should still expect your lesson to end at your set end time. 
In the rare event the teacher is running late when you arrive,
you will still receive your lesson in its entirety.

Do you offer student recitals? 
Yes!  We have several per year (generally in the Spring and Fall). 
Participation is dependent upon a few things:
How long the student has been studying with Bella Angel Music.
Teacher's input as to the student's readiness and comfort level.
Our youngest performer in a recital was 5 years old; our oldest was 75 years old!
