For the past several years, Julio Cuomo has been teaching guitar. He studied guitar with Jack Wilson at Wilson Music for over a decade. (Wilson studied at the American Conservatory of Music and is also an instructor at the National Guitar Workshop). From 2001-2005, Julio studied voice at Stacey De & Company in Lombard, IL. In addition, he has performed regularly in the Chicago area for over a decade. As part of a full band, an acoustic duo, or solo, Julio has played at rock clubs (Elbo Room, Ye Olde Town Inn), Coffee Houses (Espresso Cup, Funky Java), restaurants (Two Chefs), and municipalities (Oak Park, La Grange). Currently, Julio is the guitarist/vocalist in the Acme Blues Band, performs solo acoustic nearly each month at HopScotch in Franklin Park, and also has a show each quarter at the Park Ridge Care Center. Julio is also active with music at his parish–St. Beatrice Church and School. In the last two years that St. Beatrice School was open (2007-2009), Julio co-lead the family mass on guitar while students sang. For the past five years, Julio has played guitar for the live Stations of the Cross on Good Friday. The religious education students act out the 12 Stations and Julio and a vocalist provide brief music between each Station.
My son Gustavo has been taking guitar lessons at Bella Angel for almost a year now. Not only is the staff truly welcoming and professional, but I can tell that they love what they do. I personally think this is the best investment my husband and I have made for my son. He is gaining so much more than I ever did at his age! I would highly recommend Bella Angel, they are great and afforable! Mayra F., Schiller Park, IL
