Chris Parsons

Chris is a guitarist in the Chicagoland area and has an interest in a variety of musical styles and tastes. Initially attracted to the blues, Chris spent many of his early years developing his ear to the stylings of Eric Clapton, Steve Ray Vaughan, and Buddy Guy, as well as rock groups including the Beatles and Led Zeppelin.

His interest in performing led him to Holy Cross High School where he spent time in the Jazz Band, as well as learning upright bass for Concert Band.

     He attended Elmhurst College and spent five years in the Gretsch Electric Guitar Ensemble, under the direction of Mike Pinto, where he was able to develop experience in a variety of musical styles and scenarios. He also spent three years in the Elmhurst College Jazz Band, under the direction of Doug Beach. His time in the Jazz Band provided invaluable musical and professional experience that included weekly jobbing gigs, trips to Western Canada, Prague, and Chile, and the chance to record three studio albums.

     Chris graduated in 2011 with degrees in Jazz Studies and Music Business. In addition to teaching, Chris performs with local bands around town.
